Welcome to the first addition of Link Love. This {maybe} once a week post is where I will share with you a collection of articles, blog posts, recipes, and just generally cool travel related stuff from around the web. Enjoy, and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.
I’ve been following along as Lynne, and her super cute yellow lab Millie, spend the winter traveling and living it up in Mexico. All her posts are full of gorgeous photographs, fun get-togethers, adventures in town & on the beach. But I especially love this wrap up post all about their two months in Mazatlán.
The ONE Thing You MUST Do In Each U.S. State according to the Huffington Post. We’ve actually done a few of these and hope to cross many more off the list.
Even though I live in a tiny space that naturally lends itself to a minimalism, I still occasionally need a reminder about the importance of experiences over stuff. Rachael Weinstein captures this sentiment perfectly in her beautifully written article, Collect Moments Not Things. I am trying Rachael, I really am.
For instance, when I see these amazing, fun & sleek enamelware dishes from the Spanish company Variopointe, I can’t help but experience extreme consumer driven lust. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never own any of these, but in my dream world I would LOVE a set of these bulls eye pattern plates & bowls.
8 Ways to Renovate an Airstream. Lots of ideas here. Most are not practical for an Airstream that actually travels, but fun to look anyway.
Have you heard about the giant concrete arrows that were once used for airmail navigation before the era of radar? Nope, me either. Thanks to the traveling family, MaliMish, who shared a photo of one of the arrows on their Instagram account, I am now obsessed with seeing one in person. I even found a website with a list of all the remaining arrows. Seems there are a few in New Mexico, so I think we have a good shot at locating one.
We love biking. In celebration of two years on the road, the blog Lowe’s RV Adventures published a list of their top biking trails. These trails are all in the east, so I plan to keep this list handy when we make it back that way.
I’m always fascinated by stories of extreme travel. Probably because it is sooo far out of my comfort zone. This guy takes it to the ultimate extreme with a plan to Live on an Iceberg Until It Melts. Oh, and then he will go a step farther by continuing to live in his (4 meter wide) survival pod until he drifts ashore!!!! Um…good luck with that.
While we’re on the subject of ice, If we weren’t currently enjoying the balmy temperatures here in southern Arizona, I would want to make a beeline for Wisconsin to visit these amazing Ice Caves.
I try to challenge myself with at least two new recipes a week. Rather than letting my teeny, tiny Airstream kitchen limit my culinary creations, I view it as a challenge. This week I am going to attempt homemade Naan. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Move over Grand Canyon! Arizona’s Other National Parks.
Finally, are you in the market for a cave? I was searching around for some info on things to do in Bisbee, and came across an article about a 3,000 sq. ft. Cave House built into the nearby hills. The cave boasts a modern kitchen, built-in furniture, and a series of outdoor pools among other amenities. If you’re interested the price has just been cut in half from its original 3 million.

Awesome list Amanda! I’d actually just heard about those concrete arrows myself and was hoping to find a few.

Those arrows are so cool aren’t they? The list had quite a few in Nevada so I bet you will be able to seek some out during your spring tour.
