As we continue our trek north, we find ourselves this week in a beautiful, nearly deserted, state park on the very western edge of Maryland. Rocky Gap State Park is huge, but the camping season appears to be just warming up around here. We stayed for four nights and barely saw anyone else. It was a short stop for us, but we did manage to get in a few bike rides on the trail that runs around the large lake.
Our reason for being in this area is to attend the DelFest Bluegrass Festival over the long Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday (Thursday) morning we moved over to the nearby fairgrounds where the festivities were taking place. The Internet has been ridiculously slow, most likely due to the estimated 20,000 thousand festival attendees who are all trying to use the same cell tower. Because of that I’m going to keep this short. Wishing all of you a very happy Memorial Day weekend, and we’ll be back next week with lots of DelFest pictures and stories.

Hello there. We were your neighbors at Highland Haven. Really love Rocky Gap State Park. Enjoy the festival and hurry back to HH in the blue ridge.
