Hot out today! Spent most of the afternoon inside enjoying the AC. Despite it’s small stature our airstream is surprisingly roomy and comfy inside. Plenty of space for two people and a big pooch the spend the day. Thought this might be the perfect time to share some interior shots of our new home for those of you who have yet to see it in person. Enjoy-
No tour of the interior would be complete without some shots of Tim’s custom LED mood lighting.
That’s it. We have ~200 square feet of space and amazingly that’s all we need. The layout of this airstream is perfect for us. We have a queen size bed that you can walk around, a night stand, a shower that even a 6’2″ tall guy can fit in, and sooo much storage. Seriously… there’s storage under the couch, above the couch, next to the couch, under the bed, above the bed, above the fridge, in the bathroom, under the kitchen sink, above the kitchen sink- I could go on and on. There’s also outside storage plus we have tons of extra space in the back of our truck.

It’s awesome! We move into our new fifth wheel on 6/30 – can’t wait! I love to see how other people our age are doing it…especially with a big dog along for the ride.
Congrats Ami on your upcoming move! We thought having a big dog in such a small space might be a problem…but so far so good. He seems to love having both of us so close and when he gets underfoot he can go out and hang under the awning.
Love the way your carpet looks by the sofa….with the pillows. I also love your shade in the kitchen….
Isn’t the shade awesome? I still have half a yard of the same fabric to use when the right project comes along.
I’m loving this! Thanks for sharing :)
Love the renovations you guys have done.. looks like a perfect home on wheels! Best wishes to the voyages ahead – and hope to see you out there! – Cherie / http://www.technomadia.com.
Just discovered your FB page and blog. Wow! What a gorgeous job on your Airstream! I love the fabrics. Yay! I have a new blog to read tonight. ; ) Enjoy the ride and happy trails!
Hi,
We have a 1987 25 foot Sovereign and liked your bedroom layout. We were wondering if you had a little more detail. From the pictures it looks like you also have the two access doors. Do you have the wider body? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ken and Patty
Hey guys..
Just noticed your reply.
We do have the wide body at 8.5 feet in width. There are a few more pics of the bedroom setup at: http://www.watsonswander.com/what/
3 hatches actually. 2 on the sides and one big on along the back. We “boarded up” the hatch at the foot of the bed, leaving space for one to walk around the bottom of the bed. Has worked out great and we don’t miss that compartment.
Did you build the fold out table yourself? Wondering if you can post pictures of the hinge mechanism… I’m trying to build one of these myself
The table came with our Airstream. I’ll take some pics of the hinge tomorrow and email them to you.
We have a 99 Safari as well. Has your bathroom door fallen of yet? also, our fresh water tank fell out on our first trip with our new to us Airstream. Shall I go on, but we still love it and your changes have inspired us to move forward!!!
Ugh! We took the bathroom door off that stupid sliding track pretty early on. Now it’s hung on a large hinge and stays closed with a magnetic. We have had no tank issues (yet), and most of our other broken things have been the result of our tendency to take the AS in places where AS shouldn’t go!
